Suppliers are a fundamental part of our activities. At Sacyr, we expect our suppliers to comply with the regulations of each geographical area and with our Code of Ethics and Conduct, the policies and commitments listed below, as we are part of the same team.
To this end, each supplier assumes our commitments by accepting the ‘Clause of compliance with current legislation and business, environmental and social ethics’ included in the contracts.
We carry out ESG risk analyses on our portfolio of main suppliers, taking into account all the projects we execute, analysing the size, the length of the commercial relationship, the industry, the geographical presence and the total expenditure on each supplier. We carry out a prior evaluation process on these same suppliers to ascertain their compliance with quality, environmental and social management criteria, as well as a final evaluation process to complete their approval based on their performance in the contracts.
Within this framework, Sacyr integrates into its evaluation and audit processes methodologies based on internationally recognized standars and industry initiatives in social, environment, and corporate governance matters, such as SA8000 (social accountability), ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management), ISO 14001 (environmental management), SGE 21 (ethical and ESG management, as well as others related to diversity and equality (ISO 30415, efr, and the Equality Distinction), which are aligned with widely used schemes such as SMETA, BSCI or RBA.
Likewise, Sacyr and its suppliers are assessed through benchmark sector platforms such as Achilles, which strengthen the independent and continuous verification of supply chain performance and are audited annually by external certifying companies, such as AENOR, SGS and TÜV REHINLAND.
